Milwaukee-based media company Journal Communications has announced two executive promotions.

Jason Graham has been named senior vice president of finance and controller. He will also become chief financial officer, once the company has filed its 10-K form with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Graham has been vice president/controller at Journal since June 2012. He previously served as vice president and corporate controller at Brookdale Senior Living Inc. Graham also has experience as senior manager at KPMG LLP, assistant controller at GE Healthcare and corporate accounting manager at APW Ltd. He earned a bachelor’s in accounting from Marquette University and holds a certified public accountant designation.

“As Journal’s vice president/controller, Jason has done an excellent job leading our Accounting, Billing, Accounts Payable, Payroll and Tax teams,” said Steven Smith, chairman and chief executive officer of Journal. “He has also contributed to our strategic planning and growth initiatives, which will continue to be an integral part of his expanded role as CFO.”

Andre Fernandez has been named chief operating officer, effective upon the filing of the 10-K.

Fernandez, who previously served as president of Journal, will oversee operations of the company’s broadcast and publishing businesses. He will also take on the management of corporate human resources.
