Other than the obvious health benefits, how has being fit improved your life?
I simply feel great all of the time, nothing feels better than starting out the day with exercise to get moving. Fitness time for me also allows me to clear my mind of everything and reduce stress.

Helps me get a fresh perspective as I can clear my mind of current work-related activities while working out.

I believe fitness overall makes a big difference in peoples attitudes, they have more energy to do their work.
What advice do you have for other executives interested in starting either a personal fitness plan or corporate wellness initiative?
From many other business owners I have spoken to, the biggest reason many choose not to exercise is that they are always so busy. Years ago, I realized that as a business owner, I will always have my plate full of new ideas and while I could devote every moment to work, taking the time to exercise (even in the middle of important deadlines) has always given me bigger benefits in the end. Exercise and fitness really help keep you sharp, give you a break from the details of business and makes you feel so much better.
I try my best to encourage many others to get involved in some kind of fitness activity. Part of the challenge is that each individual really needs to have their own desire to really want to make it happen, and through repetition and providing many examples, the message eventually sinks in.
