What does your daily or weekly fitness regime consist of? I swim, bike and run. I am also preparing for Madison Marathon (May 30), Egg Harbor Half Ironman (July 18th) and Lake Wanaka Ironman(New Zealand-Jan 2011).

What fitness clubs do you belong to, if any? Westwood Fitness Center, YMCA

Other than the obvious health benefits, how has being fit improved your life? The process of setting goals for events such as marathons and triathlons can help in other facets of one’s life, including workplace and company goals.

How does personal fitness affect your work life? Being in shape helps not just my physical health, but my mental health as well, giving me a positive attitude as I deal with the stresses of business life.

How does fitness or wellness affect your overall organization? While the majority of our employees are healthy, we do have some individuals who smoke and lose work time due to poor health.

What advice do you have for other executives interested in starting either a personal fitness plan or corporate wellness initiative? For those who do start a program, consider also including a healthier eating plan, avoiding conventional, processed foods and including plenty of unprocessed organic produce, free range and grass fed meats and sustainable seafoods.
