What does your daily or weekly fitness regime consist of? I cycle (year round) and/or teach SPIN classes for the Wisconsin Athletic Club 4-5 days a week. In fall and winter I do a bit more running and weight training.
What fitness clubs do you belong to, if any? Wisconsin Athletic Club
Other than the obvious health benefits, how has being fit improved your life? Being fit has provided mental clarity and focus, stress relief and tons of new friends, vendors and clients.
How does personal fitness affect your work life? I’ve really been able to merge my personal fitness and my work life fairly successfully. I enjoy being around like-minded people and over the past few years I’ve begun doing business with a lot of people who share my passion.
How does fitness or wellness affect your overall organization? We’re very small, so the best thing I can do is lead by example. We have several employees who have lost weight since they’ve been at MC2, including one who (along with her husband) has become addicted to dancing classes.
What advice do you have for other executives interested in starting either a personal fitness plan or corporate wellness initiative? Just find a way to move doing something you enjoy. The rest will happen. Just get up and move every day.
