Iowa company acquires Wisconsin Web Offset

Organizations:

Des Moines, Iowa-based Mittera Group has acquired Brookfield-based Wisconsin Web Offset LLC, a commercial web printing and finishing services company.

WWO has more than 45 years of experience printing retail circulars, catalogs, digests and coupon books.

“Essentially, WWO is a family owned company that will continue to be a family owned company under the Mittera Group, except that the combination of the two companies will have a greater reservoir of resources from which to draw to better serve our customers and our employees,” said Pat Wood, chief executive officer of Brown County Publishing, the former parent of WWO.

The Mittera Group is a group of media companies that offers communications across a variety of channels. The acquisition will broaden Mittera’s geographic reach and service offerings.

“We are excited to partner with Wisconsin Web Offset and their customers to provide comprehensive communications solutions,” said Jon Troen, president of Mittera Group. “The addition of their Milwaukee area plant will enhance our geographic reach, and expand our already robust manufacturing capabilities. Further, Wisconsin Web customers will now have access to a more complete set of marketing services such as design, photography, mail presorting and processing, as well as social and digital media marketing.”

Combined annual sales will be about $95 million. The merged company will have 650 employees in eight locations.

Milwaukee M&A advisory firm Eisen Fox & Company LLC represented Wisconsin Web Offset in the transaction.

“After searching extensively for the right partner, is became clear that the Mittera Group is an ideal fit for Wisconsin Web Offset,” said Vicki Fox, managing director at Eisen Fox. “They offer complementary services and have a strong sense of loyalty toward customers and employees. Keeping the printing operation and employees in place was particularly important to the Wood family, and the Mittera Group made that happen.”
