Housing Authority plans to expand Lapham Park Housing Development

The City of Milwaukee Housing Authority plans to expand the 200-unit Lapham Park public housing development at 1901 N. 6th St., Milwaukee, adding an additional 47 units. The eight-story building was built in 1964. A one-story wing on the west side of the building will be removed and replaced with an eight-story addition to provide space for the new units. The project will also include work to improve the appearance of the building, increase energy efficiency and add a new entrance canopy. The Lapham Park public housing development is located across 6th Street from a new Days Inn hotel that is under construction.
