The Horny Goat Hideaway brew pub will close on Sunday after six years of operation so the company can focus on its brewing operation, according to the restaurant manager.

Staff met with owners Monday morning and found out about the closing, said manager Justin Kling. About 65 people will lose their jobs, including Kling.

“We’ll stay open for volleyball through the winter so a few people will be left, but around 95 percent of the workforce has been cut,” Kling said.

Horny Goat chief executive officer Jim Sorenson said the company would release a statement on Tuesday, but he would not be commenting today.

The Horny Goat Hideaway opened in October 2009, in the former Milwaukee Pump House bar and grill at 2011 S. First St.
