Holiday Train stops in Milwaukee

Organizations:

The 2011 Holiday Train, North America’s longest rolling food bank fundraiser, will stop at the Amtrak station in downtown Milwaukee on Saturday, Dec. 3. sometime between 6 and 8:30 p.m.
This is the 13th year a specially decorated Canadian Pacific (CP) train will make its way across the U.S. Northeast and Midwest making stops and collecting food. Hunger Task Force was selected as the Milwaukee recipient of the food donations. Patrons are asked to bring non-perishable food items to donate at the station.
The Holiday Train features 14 rail cars decorated with hundreds of thousands of festive lights. It also includes a modified boxcar that has been turned into a travelling stage for performers.
In addition to performances by Santa Claus and Willie Porter, the downtown Amtrak station will be transformed into Santa’s workshop and will also offer activities for children including decorating cookies, coloring ornaments and writing letters to Santa that can be handed off to a letter carrier.
