A 53,520-square-foot Hobby Lobby store is planned for the Shoppes at Fox River development in Waukesha, according to commercial real estate sources.
Opus Design-Build LLC, a subsidiary of The Opus Group; and Ramco Gershenson Properties Trust, a Farmington Hills, Mich.-based real estate investment trust (REIT), are seeking city approval to add the building for Hobby Lobby to the shopping center, located north of Sunset Drive and Oakdale Drive in Waukesha.
Oklahoma City-based Hobby Lobby Stores Inc. is an Oklahoma City-based chain of arts and crafts big box stores. The company has 546 stores in the U.S., including locations in Racine, West Bend, Kenosha and Sheboygan. The stores average 55,000 square feet in size.
The Shoppes at Fox River was built by The Opus Group in two phases. Each phase was purchased, separately, by Ramco-Gershenson except for the Target, CVS and Chili’s stores, which are owned by those retailers. The portion owned by Ramco-Gershenson includes retail space occupied by TJ Maxx, Ulta, Pick ‘n Save, Petco and Dollar Tree.
