Hartland-based Lake Country Manufacturing plans to move build an 81,295-square-foot plant at 950 Blue Ribbon Circle North in the Pabst Farms development in Oconomowoc. The company plans to complete the project in time to move to Oconomowoc in the first quarter of 2014, relocating from its current location at 510 Cardinal Lane in Hartland.

The new facility will be almost double the size of Lake Country Manufacturing’s existing 42,000-square-foot facility. The company needs a larger facility to accommodate its growth, said vice president of operations Jay Schneider.
“We’re at capacity now,” he said. “We’ve been looking for roughly two years for a new building. We wanted to stay in (the area of) Waukesha and west. We weren’t able to find (an existing facility) that met our needs.”
The company has about 15-20 employees and needs additional space to add more equipment, Schneider said.
Lake Country Manufacturing is a manufacturer of buffing and polishing products, generally pads and applicators used to apply waxes or polishes. It primarily serves the auto, marine and aviation industries.
“We’re hoping to expand into new product lines or expand our current product lines into different industries,” he said.
