Habitat for Humanity hits 500 mark

Learn more about:

Habitat for Humanity has started construction on its 500th house in Milwaukee, at 2228 N. 40th St.

The project is part of Blitz Build week, from June 18 to 22. Wells Fargo Housing Foundation donated $50,000 and more than 500 volunteer hours for the event.
Milwaukee County Supervisor Russell Stamper II was at the site this week.
“I’d like to extend a big thanks to Habitat for Humanity and Wells Fargo for reaching this milestone of 500 homes built or rehabbed in Milwaukee. Home ownership promotes a sense of pride and community commitment,” Supervisor Stamper said. “This is consistent with my goal of ensuring affordable and sustainable homeownership. I deeply appreciate this investment in the 5th District community and congratulate Renee Walls on her future home.”
