A groundbreaking ceremony will be held on Tuesday, April 27, to celebrate the start of construction for the Innovation Center in the Whitewater University Technology Park.
Whitewater University Technology Park is a 125-acre business park at 1231 Innovation Dr., Whitewater, on the city’s east side. The $5 million, 38,000-square-foot Innovation Center will be a business incubator, and it will be the first building in the business park. CESA 2, the state’s largest Cooperative Educational Service Agency, will become the first tenant of the Innovation Center when its 10-year lease begins in February 2011.
Construction is expected to begin in May and be completed in January 2011. Janesville-based J.P. Cullen and Sons is the general contractor for the building, which was designed by Milwaukee-based Eppstein Uhen Architects.
Whitewater University Technology Park is a joint project of UW-Whitewater, the City of Whitewater and the Whitewater Community Development Authority.
