GMR Marketing to add dozens of jobs this year

New Berlin company also will move warehouse operations to larger building

Organizations:

GMR Marketing plans to renovate its headquarters facility in New Berlin and is leasing a nearby 75,000-square-foot warehouse to accommodate significant planned growth that will include 50 new jobs this year.

GMR has leased a warehouse at 5050 Towne Drive, New Berlin, from Beloit-based Hendricks Commercial Properties. Hendricks purchased the building from GS Global Resources last month for $3.85 million after GS announced plans to move to Mukwonago.

Cameron Parsons, chief executive officer of GMR, said the New Berlin building owned by Hendricks is 15,000 square feet larger than the warehouse that GMR currently leases at 16055 W. Stratton Drive, New Berlin, and it will allow the company to produce digital content on site. GMR will move its warehouse operations from the Stratton Drive building to the building owned by Hendricks.

The building owned by Hendricks, which GMR will move into this summer, is located near GMR’s 60,000-square-foot global headquarters facility at 5000 Towne Drive.

GMR is planning to renovate its headquarters facility, which currently accommodates about 450 people so it will be able to accommodate 550. The remodeling will be done without adding any space, just reconfiguring how people work, Parsons said.

GMR is currently recruting for 50 positions, the majority of which will be located in New Berlin. The positions are in the creative department, content development, design, traditional marketing and account client services roles, finance and human resources.

“Over the past couple of years we have really focused on connecting our experienced design discipline and consulting discipline to allow for a more integrated solution for our clients,” Parsons said. “Our strategy has worked. We have a number of Fortune 500 clients and are working with larger, global brands.”

GMR is an experiential marketing agency that provides its clients with sports, music, entertainment and lifestyle experiences. The company earlier this year represented 13 clients at Super Bowl City, the Super Bowl 50 host committee’s free fan village. Clients included Chevron, Intel and Visa.

Founded in Milwaukee in 1979, GMR has grown to have 16 offices in nine countries. The company employs almost 1,000 people worldwide and has 500 employees in Milwaukee.

GMR is part of Omnicom Group Inc., a New York City-global marketing and corporate communications holding company.

“We’re proud to be in Milwaukee, where we were founded and grown, and we want to keep the business here and are looking for vibrant talent here,” Parsons said, adding that there are a lot of talented people in the Milwaukee area, and a lot of demand for them. “There are a lot of creative organizations in Milwaukee, and (we) have to battle for (talent).”
