Glendale to celebrate annual tree lighting

The City of Glendale and Bayshore Town Center invite southeastern Wisconsin to celebrate the opening of the holiday season with the ninth annual tree lighting ceremony at Bayshore on Saturday, Nov. 22.

 

During the free event, themed the “Holidazzle Tree Lighting,” a live 40-foot Balsam tree will light up the center with 3,125 lights. The 2,500-pound tree, coming from Medford, Wis., will be put into position in Bayshore’s Town Square on Friday with help from an 85-ton crane.

Before lighting the tree, officials will hold a countdown for attendees. The evening will also feature live music by Caribbean Eclipse, a performance by Nicolet Dance Team, a visit from Santa Claus, and storytelling in Barnes & Noble at 7 p.m. Area vendors, including Athleta, California Pizza Kitchen, La Coppa, Potbelly, iPic Entertainment, Erehwon, North Shore Bank and Barnes & Noble will present samples and specials onsite.

Additionally, attendees will be able to take horse-drawn carriage rides at the center from 5 to 9 p.m. Rides cost $5 for adults and $2 for children.
