Girl Scouts appoints new COO

Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast has named Heidi Deininger chief operating officer.

Deininger will be responsible for membership recruitment, retention efforts, program activities, retail sales, volunteer management and support, and facilities and camp operations at the organization.

She previously headed the Buehler YMCA of Metro Chicago in Palatine, Ill., as executive director. Prior to that leadership position, she was executive director of the West Lussier Family YMCA in Madison for six years and associate executive and senior program director of the YMCA of Northern Rock County in Janesville for four years.

“Heidi has an outstanding track record and will be a great asset to Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast,” said Christy Brown, chief executive officer of the nonprofit organization. “I am confident that her ability to translate an organization’s vision and corporate goals into effective operational strategies and actions will prove to be invaluable as we work to fulfill our vision to be the premier leadership experience for girls in ways that are relevant, engaging and meaningful.”
