Generac to add 400 jobs in Wisconsin

Waukesha-based Generac Power Systems announced that it plans to create more than 400 jobs over the next year.
The generator manufacturer plans to add the employees at its Waukesha, Eagle and Whitewater locations and another 50 to 60 at its newly acquired plant in Berlin, Wis. Generac acquired Berlin light tower and mobile generator manufacturer Magnum Products in October.
Generac attributed a 49-percent growth in third quarter total net sales to a 60.5-percent increase in residential product sales and heightened demand.
That quickly rising demand means Generac is looking to fill the open jobs within 90 days, chief executive officer Aaron Jagdfeld announced at the firm’s plant in Whitewater. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker attended the announcement.
The company will hold a job fair on Wednesday at its headquarters, S45 W29290 Hwy. 59 in Waukesha, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The available positions range from management to entry level engineers, designers, technicians and other roles.
