Gehl Foods plans buildings expansion in West Bend

Gehl Foods Inc. is working on preliminary plans to build a 133,000-square-foot expansion to a currently unused facility in West Bend.

Germantown-based Gehl Foods Inc. is working on preliminary plans to build a 133,000-square-foot expansion to an existing 116,000-square-foot industrial facility it built in West Bend three years ago, but has not yet put to use. The building is located at the southeast corner of Rail Way and Hron Road.

The expansion project, if it is done, would be done for a new business opportunity, said Gehl Foods president Andy Gehl. If that opportunity comes together, the expanded West Bend facility would be used for blow molding to make plastic bottles for the company’s products. Currently, Gehl Foods outsources its blow molding work.
