Fox Bros. Piggly Wiggly recently reached an agreement to purchase four Piggly Wiggly grocery stores from Sheboygan-based Piggly Wiggly Midwest. The stores are located at 1100 E. Commerce Blvd., Slinger; 1234 Highway 175, Hubertus; W194 N16774 Eagle Dr., Jackson; and 835 E. Green Bay Ave., Saukville. The deal is scheduled to close on Oct. 29.
Fox Bros. currently operates franchise Piggly Wiggly stores in Hartland and Oconomowoc.
The sale of the stores continues the ongoing strategy of Piggly Wiggly Midwest to convert its corporate stores into franchise operations. Once the deal is complete, 89 of 102 Piggly Wiggly stores supplied by the company will be franchise operations.
“We fell the stores will only be stronger with having a local touch,” said Paul Butera, chief executive officer and chairman of Piggly Wiggly Midwest.
