Fontarome files for receivership

St. Francis-based Fontarome Chemical Inc. has filed for receivership.

Ronald Carlson, of counsel at Calson Dash LLC in Pleasant Prairie, has been appointed the receiver for the company.

Fontarome chief executive officer Carl Sheeley did not respond to requests for comment. Carlson declined to comment.

Fontarome supplies chemicals used by flavor manufacturing companies for creating flavor products. The company was founded in 1978 in Grasse, France, and established its U.S. operations in the early 1980s in St. Francis.

St. Francis-based flavors and seasonings manufacturer Wixon Inc. spun off from the company in 2004.

As of April, Fontarome had 45 employees at its three-building, 40,000-square-foot facility.
