Field automation software can make business more efficient

Organizations:

The workforce today is becoming more and more mobile. Traditional office employees are doing more work from mobile computers and tablets and companies with field employees are finding ways to streamline processes and become more efficient.

Harvey Shovers, president of MSI Data in Mequon has developed a way for any company to efficiently mobilize their in-the-field workforce with back office operations and scheduling.

“Anybody who is doing business in the field is typically doing some combination of field inspections, field reports, field audits, field services or sales,” Shovers said. “Right now, they are probably out in the field with clipboards or spreadsheets and could be doing double the work by calling in or re-entering the data. We can customize our mobile solution to exactly fit a company’s mobile workforce needs and deploy it natively on any device.”

The mobile software solution is part of the company’s solution suite, Shovers said.

“MSI can also offer advanced scheduling software solutions or we can integrate our products into a company’s existing programs,” Shovers said. “We want to be a service organization that could offer suite solutions for basic operations including back office, complicated scheduling and field mobilization. We don’t force any one company into purchasing all three if they didn’t want to so we took the ‘Lego block’ approach so companies had the ability to implement only what they needed from us.”

Each component of the software suite can be purchased separately and integrated with existing scheduling or back office solutions, or they can be implemented as a unit at any company needing those services, Shovers said.

“More importantly our biggest goal is to provide these services to businesses at an affordable cost, in a way that’s easy to deploy, and also provide a rapid return on their investment,” Shovers said. “In my professional past I became very familiar with how expensive technology can be, how long you have to wait for it to completely be deployed and then sometimes you have to wait ten years to see any return on the investment. That’s not the case with our products.”

MSI currently works with all sizes of companies and in a variety of different industries.

“We wanted to be able to provide these solutions to the masses,” Shovers said. “We currently have companies with three field workers all the way up to hundreds of field workers using our solutions.”

The field automation software solution updates on a daily basis and can sync with back office and billing systems in real time. It can be implemented within any industry and with any mobile device, Shovers said.

“We’ve identified approximately 20 different vertical markets including industrial product companies, distributors, medical equipment companies, construction, government entities and even telecommunications,” Shovers said.

MSI offers training and support for all companies in addition to system integration with existing platforms. Pricing of the MSI data solutions is a subscription based model where companies will pay a monthly per user cost.

“That is part of our easy-to-acquire mentality,” Shovers said. “We want to be there to provide solutions to your business problems. We wanted to make it affordable for companies to use.”
