Elliott’s Ace Hardware to build new Muskego store

Learn more about:

Elliott’s Ace Hardware plans to build a 25,000-square-foot hardware store in Muskego near the Wal-Mart store that is under construction southwest of Moorland Road and College Avenue.
The owners of Elliott’s recently purchased a 3.5-acre lot for the store from Interstate Partners LLC, which is developing the Wal-Mart site. Robert LeClaire of Grubb & Ellis|Apex Commercial represented Elliott’s in brokering the sale.
The sale price for the lot was $995,000, according to public records.
Elliott’s has four Ace Hardware stores in southeastern Wisconsin. They are located in Elm Grove, West Allis, Pewaukee and New Berlin.
The new Muskego store will replace the New Berlin store which is located at 12805 W. Janesville Road, in an area where New Berlin, Hales Corners, Franklin and Muskego converge.
Elliott’s plans to break ground soon for the new store and hopes to open in May, LeClaire said.
“(Interstate Partners) was thrilled (with the deal),” LeClaire said. “There’s no a whole lot going on right now, especially in retail.”
Elliott’s leases the New Berlin store building and has a few years left on the lease, LeClaire. They will either try to sublease the building or will use it for storage of excess inventory, he said.
Construction of the Wal-Mart store is nearing completion.
