Ellenbecker turns over reins of company to daughter

Karen Ellenbecker, founder of Pewaukee-based Ellenbecker investment Group, is turning over the reins of her investment advisory company to her daughter, Julie Ellenbecker-Lipsky, who is the firm’s new president.

Karen Ellenbecker will continue her strategic role at EIG and commit the majority of her time focusing on client accounts and overseeing relationships.

“Julie has played such an essential role in the growth of EIG, and along with our clients and staff, we will continue to rely on her proven ability to lead the company,” Karen said. “As both a mother and colleague, I am so proud of the leadership Julie demonstrates daily, and am excited to recognize her leadership skills by appointing her president.”

Julie has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. In addition to her new role as president of EIG, Julie also chairs the Rogers Memorial Hospital Foundation Board and is the vice chairperson of the EIG Charitable Foundation.

“I could not have asked for a greater mentor than my own mother,” Julie said. “Working with her for the past 20 years has been the best education, both personal and professional, that I could have ever asked for. I look forward to continuing our dream of growing an ethical, innovative, family-focused financial firm.”

Karen started the company in 1996 following a successful career as a stockbroker with two major investment firms and as a trust officer at a recognized local bank.

“Our philosophy over the years is quite simple and has proven successful – we focus on three of the most important human dimensions: financial, personal and social wellbeing. We work with our clients to understand what matters to them now, and what will matter during future life transitions. The most important element is that we involve our clients in the process so they gain both financial confidence and knowledge,” Karen said.

The firm recently opened its second office, located at 705 E. Silver Spring Drive in Whitefish Bay. The company’s headquarters will remain in Pewaukee.
