Eder Flag acquires Baartol assets

Oak Creek-based Eder Flag Manufacturing Co. has acquired some of the assets and expertise of Baartol Company, a Kenton, Ohio-based flagpole manufacturer that is going out of business.

Baartol is a national leader in flagpole manufacturing and has a commitment to quality that will fit well with Eder’s focus on craftsmanship, the companies said.

Eder makes flags, flagpoles and associated products. The portion of Baartol that has been purchased is complementary to Eder’s existing business. The price was not disclosed.

“Integrating these assets of Baartol Co. with Eder Flag allows us to provide an even broader array of product offerings in addition to strengthening our expertise in the engineering and design of these products,” said Jodi Goglio, director of operations at Eder.

John Anderson, former Baartol vice president, will remain on the team at Eder. Baartol’s other six employees will be laid off.

“We feel this is a natural fit for our business and we’re happy to be able to offer our customers another high-quality line of products,” Goglio said.
