Ducati dealership plans move from Pewaukee to West Allis

Organizations:

The Ducati Milwaukee motorcycle dealership might relocate from its current location at 2204 Silvernail Road in Pewaukee to a larger location in West Allis.

The dealership, which opened in 2010, is located in a 9,600-square-foot leased space. Joe Meinerz, the owner of the dealership, said he wants to own his own space and needs a larger facility. He is considering plans to move to a 15,000-square-foot building in West Allis.

Meinerz is seeking approval from city of West Allis officials to amend a community commercial district ordinance in order to allow vehicle sales in an indoor showroom.

Meinerz declined to name the specific location he wants to move to in West Allis.

The West Allis Plan Commission agenda indicates that the ordinance change would impact the area along Greenfield Avenue between 100th and 121st Streets, along National Avenue between 59th and 70th Streets, and along 84th Street between Greenfield Avenue and Lapham Street. Therefore the Ducati dealership would be located in one of those areas.
If the zoning change is approved the Ducati dealership will need to apply for an occupancy permit, at which time public notice would be provided about the specific location.
