The David’s Bridal store in Greenfield has moved to the 84South mixed-use development.

The Conshohocken, Pennsylvania-based retailer recently opened a new store at 450 Sura Lane, which is located less than two miles west of its previous location at 5050 S. 74th St. Representatives of the company were not immediately available to comment on the move.

Other tenants in the 84South development, located south of I-894 and west of South 84th Street, include Kohl’s, Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, Ross Dress for Less, Ulta Beauty, Outback Steakhouse and Portillo’s. Like David’s Bridal, Kohl’s and Outback Steakhouse moved to 84South from other nearby locations.

David’s Bridal announced via email on Thursday that it will hold a grand opening event on Jan. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Greenfield store is one of two Milwaukee-area David’s Bridal locations. The company has had a location for at least 10 years at the Brookfield Fashion Center in Brookfield, as well as Ashwaubenon, Eau Claire, Grand Chute and Madison.

Considered the largest wedding retailer in the country, David’s Bridal currently operates more than 330 stores throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the United Kingdom, according to its website.

The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in late 2018, but emerged in early 2019 after slashing its debt by about $450 million, according to reports. The company has since made changes to its leadership team and worked with lenders and investors to recapitalize.
