Corporate Challenge run/walk open to all companies

The 2013 Salus Schlitz Park Corporate Challenge, scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 19, continues to encourage company participants to take part in its third annual 5K run and two-mile walk as a way to boost employee health and wellness.

 

GE Healthcare, MillerCoors and Northwestern will be among returning teams to the third annual event alongside new corporate teams representing Rockwell Automation and S.C. Johnson & Sons, Inc.

“The Corporate Challenge provides Wisconsin organizations the opportunity to flex their muscle as health-conscious employers committed to wellness,” said Michael Boehmer, director of wellness and fitness services for Salus. “All Corporate Challenge participants receive free training plans, finish line dinner celebration plus other perks.”

The celebration will also include a Wellness Expo along with raffle and door prizes.

Awards will be presented to teams and individuals for: company with the highest percentage of participation, company with the greatest overall number of participants, fast teams, fastest finisher, fastest C-Level finisher, and Fastest Masters Level finisher.

The corporate challenge, which is raising funds for Milwaukee Riverkeeper, is open to all employees, regardless of athletic ability or fitness level.

To sign up, interested organizations must appoint a company coordinator to register their team. Individual team members can register once the team is established. Each team must have at least four participants.

Cost is $30 per person through Monday, Sept. 16, and $40 on the day of the race. The race will begin at 6:15 p.m. at its new location in Schlitz Park in downtown Milwaukee.
