Computer and electronics retailer purchases Wauwatosa site

Hilliard, Ohio-based Micro Electronics Inc. recently purchased a 5.7-acre site, formerly occupied by a pair of auto dealerships, at 11221 and 11333 W. Burleigh St. in Wauwatosa for $1.35 million.

Don Zien of CB Richard Ellis and Joel Schneider of Atlas Partners Chicago represented the seller in brokering the deal. The property was sold for a receiver who was representing a bank, Zien said. He said he could not disclose additional details.

Micro Electronics Inc. has 23 computers and consumer electronics stores in the U.S., but none in Wisconsin. The stores are as large as 60,000 square feet. Zien said the company did not indicate what its plans for the site are.

“It appears they bought it to put their store on it, but they didn’t tell us that,” Zien said.
