The Village of Pleasant Prairie, which for years has been a Kenosha County hot spot attracting businesses moving north from the Chicago area, continues to attract development.

The village’s Plan Commission on Monday approved plans for a new 254-acre business park and a new 10-acre office development.

Lincolnshire, Ill.-based Venture One Real Estate LLC plans to develop the corporate business park, to be known as Riverview Corporate Park, east of Interstate 94 between 110th and 122nd streets. The site has access to the Highway 165 and I-94 interchange.

The conceptual plan for the business park calls for of up to seven office and manufacturing buildings ranging in size from 87,000 to 428,000 square feet of space. The facilities could be used for office, research and development, manufacturing, production and assembly operations, the village says. Development is expected to begin in 2014. At full build-out the business park is expected to have 1,100 employees, the village said.

Greenwich, Ct.-based Starwood Capital Group, using the name SB1 Pleasant Prairie WI LLC, plans to develop a 10-acre office development between 88th and 91st Avenues and 76th Street and Prairie Ridge Boulevard. Plans call for the property to be divided into four lots, ranging in size from 2.12 to 2.91 acres, for the potential development of four office buildings, ranging in size from 11,500 to 20,000 square feet, the village said.
