City of Milwaukee to offer reduced water rates for businesses

Learn more about:

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett announced this week a new economic development plan for the city to offer discounted water rates to water-intensive businesses.
The new Economic Development Rate (EDR) also is known as the WAVE (Water Attracting Valuable Employers) rate.
The city’s Milwaukee Water Works (MWW) discount can be used to help attract and expand businesses.
The Milwaukee 7 initiative and Milwaukee Water Council are capitalizing on the region’s access to fresh water from Lake Michigan as a competitive asset for economic development.
Barrett made the announcement at the PalermoVilla Inc. pizza production plant in Milwaukee’s Menomonee River Valley. High-quality water is critical to Palermo’s production. Barrett was joined by Alderman Michael Murphy, M7 vice president Shelley Jurewicz and PalermoVilla president Giacomo Fallucca.
