Chris Wiser, founder and president of Waukesha-based TechSquad IT has been in the technology industry for more than a decade. In 2000, he took his passion for the industry and his entrepreneurial mindset and formed TechSquad IT.

Today, the company provides cloud operations, IT consulting, and email and spam protection services to more than 45 contract clients in the Milwaukee area. They also offer email hosting, website hosting, and sells PC Servers and Mondopad units to approximately 205 additional customers.

The company has experienced consistent growth; it grew its gross sales from $405,000 in 2011 to $1.5 million in 2012. Wiser projects revenue to more than double in 2013.

“I credit a lot of our success to our people, but also a strategic sales and marketing plan and execution,” he said.

Wiser tries to keep a customer-centric focus and surrounds himself with a team of employees that compliments and enhances his strengths and weaknesses as a leader, he said.

Also contributing to TechSquad IT’s success is MSP Leads, a subsidiary company Wiser founded in 2011 to assist the company and other managed service providers with generating leads at small to midsize businesses needing managed IT services.

With the help of MSP Leads, the startup company gained nearly 20 new contract clients in the past year and added to its staff, increasing its workforce by more than 50 percent.

“It’s important for us to recognize our customers,” Wiser said. “We really focus on the customer service side and try to make our clients as happy as possible. We want to make sure to thank them for contributing to our success as a company.”
