The 9,762-square-foot home, which sits on a 2.5-acre site along Lake Michigan, has 8 bedrooms, 5 full bathrooms, 2 half bathrooms, and a four-car garage, according to various listings for the property.

The home was built in 1927 and is known as the Charles and Laura Albright House, according to the Wisconsin Historical Society. Charles Albright, who died in 1946, was an assistant medical director and then a salesman for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. He was also a board member for Allis-Chalmers and a member of the executive committees for the First Wisconsin National Bank and the First Wisconsin Trust Company.

The property has an assessed value of about $2.35 million, according to Milwaukee County records.

The home was listed for sale by Mahler Sotheby’s International Realty and sold by Keller Williams Realty-Milwaukee North Shore, according to a Coldwell Banker listing for the property.

This is not the first time Abele has purchased high priced real estate in Milwaukee County. In 2015, he bought two condominiums on the 29th floor of The Moderne building in downtown Milwaukee. He paid $2.8 million for the two units, which he combined into one 8,132-square-foot unit. Abele also has owned another home on Lake Drive, in Milwaukee.

Abele’s father, John, was a co-founder of Boston Scientific. Abele has been Milwaukee County executive since 2011.
