Children’s day event to be held Saturday

The council for Spanish Speaking, Inc., Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin’s Project Ujima and Milwaukee Public Schools will host the Annual “El Dia de los Ninos” or Children’s Day event on Saturday, April 24 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at South Division High School, 1515 W Lapham Blvd.
“El Día de los Niños” is a holiday of Latin American origin. It is recognized in many communities across the country as a day to celebrate and honor children and to remind communities of their responsibility to ensure the health and well-being of their youngest citizens.
The theme of this year’s event is “Go Green” and the event will offer activities and information on the importance of recycling and saving the planet. Arts and craft activities, live music, dance and story time will also be available.
