After afour-year post Great Recession slump the housing market in southeastern Wisconsin is finally in recovery mode and the prices of homes sold this year are on the rise.

Water and Brady

Wauwatosa-based Wangard plans to build this mixed-use development along the Milwaukee River near the intersection of Water Street and Brady Street on the city's East Side. The project, designed by AG Architecture and The Kubala Washatko Architects Inc., will have 160 apartments and 6,600 square feet of retail space with a café and a restaurant overlooking the river. The project will have a public walkway from Brady Street to the riverwalk. The project is expected to begin in 2014 and is expected to be completed in 2015.

Quality Suites hotel in Kenosha sold for $1.4 million

Sunrise Hotels Inc. this week purchased the 72-room Quality Suites hotel in Kenosha from Milwaukee-based Wisconsin Hospitality LLC for $1.42 million, according to state records.

Chicago-based HSA Commercial Real Estate is working on plans for a redevelopment project of the 92,000-square-foot Plaza 173 shopping center at 17300 W. Bluemound Road in Brookfield.
