Harley eliminates IT jobs

Harley-Davidson Inc. has eliminated 125 positions in its IT department as it outsources some information technology work to Infosys Inc.

Rockwell third quarter profit up 6.2 percent

Milwaukee-based Rockwell Automation Inc. reported fiscal third quarter profit of $190.7 million, up 6 percent compared to $179.5 million in the previous fiscal third quarter.

Gunite plant in Brillion to close

Evansville, Ind.-based Accuride Corp. announced that its Gunite business unit is consolidating North American production into the Rockford, Ill., facility where the unit is based.

Oshkosh Corp. profit up 10.3 percent

Defense spending continues to bolster Oshkosh Corp. The company reported that its fiscal third quarter net income was up 10.3 percent to $75.7 million and that its net sales for the quarter were up 7.6 percent to $2.176 billion.

Modine completes Geofinity acquisition

Racine-based Modine Manufacturing Co. announced that it has completed the acquisition of Surrey, B.C.-based Geofinity Manufacturing. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Bemis profits dip

Neenah-based Bemis Company Inc. reported that its net income fell 24 percent to $42.3 million and its net sales fell 3.5 percent to $1.32 billion during its fiscal second quarter.

As the worker strike at Palermo Villa Inc. enters its third month, workers urged customers at Costco Wholesale Corp. grocery stores to boycott the Palermo’s Pizza products manufactured at the company.

Manufacturing Partnership aims to close skills gap

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett’s Manufacturing Partnership celebrated 10 new graduates of a training program at Herker Industries in Menomonee Falls last week.
