Children’s Hospital nurse practitioner awarded $18,000 researcher grant
Amy Newman, a nurse practitioner in pediatric oncology at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, has won an $18,789 nurse researcher grant from Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a Pennsylvania-based nonprofit dedicated to fighting childhood cancer. Newman is also a doctoral student at Marquette University.
MCW Cancer Center names associate director
Clinical psychologist Melinda Stolley has been named the associate director of prevention and control for the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center. In addition to that role, Stolley will serve as professor of medicine at MCW.
Former Columbia St. Mary’s VP, COO appointed WHA chair
Therese Pandl, former executive vice president and chief operating officer at Columbia St. Mary’s, will begin her service on Thursday as chair of the Wisconsin Hospital Association in 2015. Pandl is now the president and chief executive officer of the Hospital Sisters Health System’s eastern Wisconsin division.
More than 90,000 Wisconsin residents enroll in Health Insurance Marketplace
According to a report released today by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 92,398 people in Wisconsin selected plans through the Health Insurance Marketplace leading up to the Dec. 15 deadline for coverage beginning Jan. 1.
