Pewaukee-based Dockside Watercraft Cleaners expanding into Walworth County

When the COVID-19 pandemic threw Menomonee Falls residents Alexi and Colin Shepet a curve ball, the couple used the opportunity to launch a business that would quickly grow to service two counties. Dockside Watercraft Cleaners, which was first started in Pewaukee, is now expanding into Walworth County.

Slinger-based MBW planning expansion

Slinger-based MBW, Inc., a manufacturer of compaction and concrete construction equipment, is planning to expand operations by building a new research and development facility. MBW currently operates at 250 Hartford Road.

Former Johnsonville CEO buys University Club Tower condo from former Bucyrus, REV Group CEO for $2.6 million

Former Johnsonville chief executive officer and board chairman Ralph Stayer purchased a two-bedroom, 4,264-square-foot condo in the University Club Tower building in downtown Milwaukee from a revocable trust connected to former Bucyrus CEO and former REV Group CEO Tim Sullivan for about $2.6 million, according to state records.

Milwaukee-based EmPower HR acquired by Phoenix-based HR firm

Milwaukee-based EmPower HR, a professional employer organization (PEO) and human resources outsourcing firm, has been acquired by Phoenix, Arizona-based Vensure Employer Services.

Burlington-based HVAC contractor acquired by Illinois company

Burlington-based Vorpagel Service, Inc., a commercial HVAC contractor, has been acquired by Deerfield, Illinois-based Reedy Industries. Reedy Industries is a commercial and industrial HVAC, plumbing and building controls services company. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Marquette professor receives $4.2 million Department of Energy grant

A Marquette University faculty member has been named the recipient of a $4.2 million Department of Energy Grant. Adam Dempsey, an assistant professor of mechanical engineering in the Opus College of Engineering, will use the funding to further research technology to be used in lean-burn natural gas engines.

Nwagbaraocha is also president of the Wisconsin chapter of the National Association of Minority Contractors.
