Kenneth Connor, owner and partner of Connor Remodeling & Design, Inc., in Menomonee Falls

Name: Kenneth S. Connor, CR, Owner/Partner
Company: Connor Remodeling & Design, Inc.
Company address: N89 W16416 Main St., Menomonee Falls
Company web site: www.connorremodeling.com
Industry: Remodeling (Residential)
Education: Graduate of Muskego High School, 1971; earned National Certified Remodeler designation, 2000
Family:  “Wife, Cathy of 21 years; sons Kevin a business partner, Dillon, 18; daughter Caitlin, 14”
Hobbies and Interests: “Reading, camping, hunting, doing anything outdoors when the sun shines, traveling, listening to good music from Beatles to IZ to Michael Buble and of course Dean Martin, and watching sports in person or on TV, especially with my daughter Caitlin.”
Favorite book and/or movie: “The Bible and “Winning” by Jack Welch- I loved where he talked about candor; best movie – wow, too many to choose from, but if it has to be one it’s James Cagney in “Yankee Doodle Dandy,” which I try to watch every July 4th.”
Favorite musician/band(s): “Beatles – John Lennon was my favorite. Loved his voice.”
Favorite place to visit/vacation: “Lahaina, Maui (Hawaii) and Walt Disney World.”
Favorite local restaurant: “Seester’s Mexican Cantina on Pewaukee Lake with the sun setting and the temperature at 80.  Palmer’s Steakhouse on any other night!”
Words to live by: “Always do what’s right, no matter what. And, as Father Tony once said, say things only if true, kind and necessary.”
What is your core philosophy for doing business? “Honesty, fairness and integrity in all we do and never settling for less than our best and most sincere effort.”
Who is your role model and why? “Number one is Vince Lombardi – he was about striving for perfection even though he knew it could never be achieved. He taught his players to be prepared and to give every bit of effort they had within them and nothing less, and to never give up. Number is two is Winston Churchill – never, never, never quit.”
What was the funniest thing that has ever happened to you? “My grandmother walked across the football field in the middle of a game that I was coaching. Everyone was yelling at her to get off the field. She was hard of hearing, so had no idea what was being said. I laughed till I almost cried. I miss her to this day. She was like Vince Lombardi, she never gave up no matter how tough life was. She is my real hero!”
