Milwaukee Women inc. to present Leading Edge Awards
Milwaukee Women inc. is honoring companies that are changing the face of the boardroom in Wisconsin by having 25 percent or more women board members.
The winners were identified through a biennial research study of Wisconsin’s top 50 public companies. In recognition of their leadership, the newly created Leading Edge Awards will be presented Nov. 17 to the following corporations: Alliant Energy Corp.; Assisted Living Concepts Inc.; Associated Banc-Corp.; Bon-Ton Department Stores Inc.; Journal Communications Inc.; ManpowerGroup; MGE Energy Inc.; School Specialty Inc.; and Sensient Technologies Corp.
The awards presentation will take place Nov. 17 at the University Club, 925 E. Wells St., Milwaukee, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Nina Vaca, chairman and CEO of Pinnacle Technical Resources Inc., will be the keynote speaker.
Bergren to retire as CEO of Bon-Ton Stores
The Bon-Ton Stores Inc. announced that Bud Bergren, age 65, will retire as president and chief executive officer.
Bon-Ton Stores, which has headquarters in Milwaukee and York, Pa., said. Bergren will remain in his current position until the search for and hiring of a new CEO is completed and an orderly transition has taken place.
Bergren will become chairman of the board for the company. Tim Grumbacher will step down as executive chairman and remain a member of the board.
Bergren has been president and CEO since August 2004.
