Milwaukee downtown employee appreciation week continues
This week, the Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21 is hosting the Fifth Annual Downtown Employee Appreciation Week. Today’s special events include:

  • Eat, Meet and Tweet at the UW-Milwaukee School of Continuing Education Summer open house, 161 W. Wisconsin Ave.,  from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will feature  20-minute complimentary programs from local organizations including Harley-Davidson, the Urban Ecology Center, UBS Financial and City Tins. Food and refreshments will also be available.
  • Office Challenge Games at Red Arrow Park from 11:45a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Join Milwauke Downtown for the paper clip toss, grand prize game, mouse pad fling and Office Rock Star competition. The Laacke & Joys Scavenger Hunt, SPiN Milwaukee Ping-Pong and the Bucks Basketball Shootout will also take place. Giveaways including State Fair Mini Cream Puffs, water bottles from Johnson Controls, and bags of popcorn from the 2010 MLK Street Jam & BBQ will be distributed on a first come first serve basis from beginning at 12 p.m. also in Red Arrow Park
  • The volleyball tournament finals will be held at Bradford beach from 5 to 8 p.m., and will feature the final four teams who will play for the title. Live music and drink specials will be available in the tiki bar.
  • The Grandest Happy Hour party will take place at the shops of grand avenue center court from 5 to 7 p.m. Downtown employees will receive a free pilsner glass and beer samples from Rock Bottom Brewery while supplies last.

 
Thursday, Aug. 5 The Greater Brookfield Chamber of Commerce will hold its 28th annual golf outing, at Ironwood Golf Course in Sussex. Attendees can enjoy a day of golf, raffle prizes, networking, and food. Cost to play is $600 per foursome and $165 per individual.
