Aetna will spend about $35 billion to buy rival Humana and become the latest health insurer bulking up on government business as the industry adjusts to the federal health care overhaul.
Humana’s corporate headquarters is in Louisville, Ky., but it has significant operations in Brown County, which is home to its small-group, individual and specialty line operations. Humana is Brown County’s largest employer, with more than 3,100 employees in De Pere and Green Bay.
