Briggs & Stratton launches winter Olympic sweepstakes

Briggs & Stratton Corp. recently launched a multi-dimensional sweepstakes that offers three unique and interactive ways to enter for the chance to win a three-day trip for two to the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver.

"We are excited to be associated with such a prestigious event as the Winter Olympics and to share this occasion with our customers," said Michael Betker, marketing manager for Briggs & Stratton. "The Winter Olympics Power Play Promotion will give our customers three different opportunities to win this once-in-a-lifetime prize, while also building awareness of our energy- efficient home standby generators."

The company has developed three interactive ways to wi,n including the Power Play Interactive Hockey Game, which offers visitors a fun way to play for a chance to win the package by blocking goal shots attempted by the opposing “Winter Stormers” team.  Contestants can also enter by submitting their own personal story of endurance or power failure anxiety. Each story submission automatically enters the individual into the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games contest, and submitters are encouraged to share within 100 words or less how they and their family were affected by a power outage caused by a severe ice or winter storm.  Individuals who refer a friend or family member to learn more about the features and benefits of a permanently installed Standby Generator System by GE will have the opportunity to submit their contact information at www.powermoreforless.com, for a chance to win the trip for two to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games. In addition, for those referrals that turn into a sale, both the referrer and the referred will receive $100 each.

The grand prize "Imagination" package retails for $19,300 and includes a three-night stay at a four-star Vancouver hotel from Feb. 19-22, 2010. Prize winners will receive tickets to three Olympic events during their stay, and the package includes complimentary airfare, breakfast plus one additional meal per day, a hospitality suite with food and beverages, and accredited ground transportation.

All three promotional programs will through Jan. 22, 2010, and the winner will be announced on Jan. 23, during the International Builders’ show in Las Vegas.
