WHAT HAS FUELED YOUR COMPANY’S GROWTH? Several changes occurred this year that allowed Brevient to return to its entrepreneurial roots. We have an incredibly creative and talented team. By focusing more on team collaboration, we’ve really been able to tap into that resource and develop a better perspective on the different aspects of business and customer interaction. Ultimately, our emphasis on collaboration has produced software that better meets the specific needs of customers in various industries.

DO YOU PLAN ANY CHANGES IN YOUR COMPANY IN THE UPCOMING MONTHS? Our biggest change recently has been the announcement of the Jyngle product line. Continued success and development for Jyngle will inevitably lead us to add more staff members to that product team. We continue to upgrade our technical infrastructure to support increased customer demand and allow for feature enhancements that improve system functionality. And as always, our sales structure continues to flex and grow to support both existing customers and new product lines.

WHO ARE THE BUSINESS PEOPLE, LOCALLY OR NATIONALLY, WHOM YOU ADMIRE? AND WHAT TRAITS DO THOSE PEOPLE EXHIBIT THAT MAKE YOU ADMIRE THEM? Mike Dunham, Brevient director and executive vice president of business development for industrial and financial systems. His persistence and commitment to the success of each company he is associated with sets him apart. Mike always believes that he can create positive change and make things happen, which is inspiring to me as an entrepreneur. I also admire the way in which he continually garners respect from both business associates and the community.

WHAT IS THE OUTLOOK FOR THE BUSINESS CONDITIONS OF YOUR INDUSTRY OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL MONTHS? The market for Web, audio and VoiceXML technologies is exploding. Now, more than ever, companies are looking for ways to communicate more efficiently and costeffectively. Technologies that blend multiple forms of communications media, including Internet and phone, are going to be in high demand, which is promising for Brevient. Mix Meeting and Jyngle align with the new Web 2.0 and VoiceXML principles that focus on user participation and using the Web as platform for applications. Jyngle also has the ability to open doors for us in the booming social networking space, which is not only exciting from a business perspective but also fun for a bunch of tech-geeks like us.
