BMO Harris Bank launches card-free ATM technology

BMO Harris Bank has announced a new technology is now available at 275 of its Wisconsin ATMs. The Mobile Cash technology allows customers to make ATM withdrawals without removing their wallets from their pockets, saving time and increasing the security of the transaction.

The Canadian bank, which has its U.S. headquarters in Chicago, launched the technology at a total of 750 of its 1,300 U.S. ATMs. 400 are in Illinois, 40 are in Indiana, 20 are in Arizona and about 20 are in Minneapolis. The bank also plans to add enable another 150 ATMs in its network for Mobile Cash by June.

Customers can use the BMO Harris Bank mobile app to locate Mobile Cash-enabled ATMs. The machines are enabled with a QR-based mobile technology to allow customers to make withdrawals using the app alone.
