The annual BizExpo, the largest business-to-business networking conference in the state, is taking place today at the Potawatomi Bingo Casino Expo Center in Milwaukee. The event, which has a new one-day format this year, is hosted by BizTimes Media LLC.
More than 120 businesses are displaying their goods and services at the BizExpo.
Milwaukee County Board Chairwoman Marina Dimitrijevic announced today that she will attend the BizExpo today in Milwaukee. She said the visit is a key step in her efforts to unite communities, businesses and organizations in Milwaukee County.
“Small businesses are a key part of economic development in Milwaukee County, and I appreciate the opportunity to meet with the many business owners in attendance at the BizExpo,” Dimitrijevic said. “We reach out to small businesses, particularly disadvantaged business enterprises, to help create job opportunities for people from all walks of life.”
The BizExpo began today with the Women in Business Breakfast, featuring a panel of accomplished business leaders, including: Kimberley Crews Goode, vice president of communication and corporate affairs, Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. Inc.; Julie Ledger, vice president and general manager, Opus Development Corp.; Marie O’Brien, president and chief executive officer, EnterForce Inc.; Kathy Siefert, former executive vice president, Kimberly Clark Corp.; Marti Wronski, vice president and general counsel, Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club. The BizTimes Woman Executive of the Year Award was presented to Gail Lione, who was recently appointed to the board of directors at Badger Meter Inc.
During a luncheon event the BizTimes Bravo! Entrepreneur and IQ (Innovation Quotient) Awards will be presented to several of the region’s most dynamic, innovative and bold companies and leaders. The event will feature a conversation with renowned restaurateur Joe Bartolotta, the presentation of the Regional Spirit Award to Balistreri Owned and Operated Sendik’s Food Markets and the BizTimes Lifetime Achievement Award to Sheldon Lubar.
The BizExpo concludes tonight with the After Hours reception, providing special networking opportunities and prizes.
