BizExpo, the annual business-to-business regional conference presented by BizTimes Media, will be held on Wednesday, May 18, at Potawatomi Hotel & Casino in Milwaukee.

About 2,500 people attend BizExpo each year, which includes more than 100 exhibitors, three main stage events and 18 free seminars. There is an additional cost for the main stage events.

BizExpo will begin with the first of the main stage events, the annual Women in Business breakfast. Paula Penebaker, president and CEO of YWCA Southeast Wisconsin, will be presented with the Women Executive of the Year Award. The breakfast will also include a panel discussion featuring: Kathryn Campbell, director of investor relations for Johnson Controls Inc.; Linda Gorens-Levey, a partner with General Capital Group; Debra Kessler, CFO of TJ Hale and Impact 100; Shontra Powell, COO of ASQ; and Mary Lou Young, president and CEO of the United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County. The panel will be moderated by Kimberly Kane, president and founder of Kane Communications Group.

The annual Bravo! Entrepreneur and IQ (Innovation Quotient) Awards program will be the main stage event held over the lunch hour at BizExpo. George and Julie Mosher, who founded National Business Furniture and are now major venture investors, will be presented with the BizTimes Lifetime Achievement Award. Gener8tor will be presented with the Regional Spirit Award. Gener8tor co-founder Joe Kirgues will participate in a panel discussion with entrepreneurs leading young, growing companies in southeastern Wisconsin. The other panelists will include: Dominic Anzalone, founder and CEO of RentCollegePads.com; Joe Scanlin, co-founder and CEO of Scanalytics; and Richard Yau, CEO and co-founder of Bright Cellars.

BizExpo will conclude with a new main stage event, Locker Room to the Boardroom, featuring a panel discussion with former athletes who are now business leaders in Milwaukee. They will discuss how lessons they learned from athletics have helped them in their business careers. The panelists will include: Lou Banach, an Olympic gold medalist for wrestling who is now an Associated Bank executive; Jim Popp, a college football star at Vanderbilt who played briefly in the NFL and is now Wisconsin region head for JPMorgan Chase & Co.; and Rick Barrett, a former college and minor league baseball player who is now a prominent Milwaukee real estate developer.
