Image Systems Inc.

Image Systems Inc., Menomonee Falls, a Consolidated Graphics Inc. company, Houston, Texas, received a Gold Ink Award in the Annual Report category from the North American Publishing Co., Philadelphia, Penn. The award was for the 2006 annual report created for Acuity, Sheboygan, called Platinum Year. The report was shaped like an LP record and packaged in a retro-look with a shrink wrapped album sleeve. The Gold Ink Awards recognize the best printing projects in North America, based on print quality, technical difficulty and overall visual effect. Other companies recognized in the Gold Ink Awards that are based in southeastern Wisconsin include: Visual Systems Inc., Milwaukee, which received a bronze award in the Folders category; Arandell Corp., Menomonee Falls, which received a bronze and pewter award in the Consumer Catalogs, Web category and a pewter award in the Business Catalogs, Web category; Post Printing, an RR Donnelley Co., West Bend, which received a gold and a pewter award in the Dimensional Printing category; and J.B. Kenehan LLC, Waukesha, which received a silver award in the Direct Mail Packages-Envelope category, a pewter award in Business Catalogs, Sheetfed category and a pewter award in the Specialty Magazines, Web category.

Health Payment Systems Inc.

Health Payment Systems Inc. (HPS), Milwaukee, recently signed a contract with Interplan Health Group (IHG), Farmington, Conn., a national preferred provider organization (PPO). IHG currently has a presence in 18 states throughout the country including Wisconsin, under its brand, and the remainder of the states under the Superien brand. IHG’s Wisconsin network includes more than 15,000 providers. IHG also owns and operates AmeriScript, a prescription drug benefit management (PBM) company. The contract will enable HPS and IHG to partner in additional U.S. markets. Bruce Lefco, chairman and chief executive officer of HPS and Scott Settle, senior vice president of sales and marketing for IHG, are currently discussing the creation of conjoining offices in Milwaukee; Chicago; Cleveland; Louisville; Arlington, Texas; Sacramento; Stockton, Calif.; and San Diego.

Wellness Council of Wisconsin

The Wellness Council of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, with its national affiliate, the Wellness Councils of America, Omaha, Neb., recently presented Gold Well Workplace Awards to Children’s Hospital and Health System, Milwaukee; Mercy Health System, Janesville; and Schoeneck Containers Inc., New Berlin. The Gold Well Workplace Award recognizes an organization for its commitment to the health and well-being of its employees. The Well Workplace designation is awarded throughout the year to employers headquartered within the U.S.

Fitzgerald, Clayton, James & Kasten Inc.

Fitzgerald, Clayton, James & Kasten Inc., Mequon, partnered with Wisconsin Medical Society Insurance & Financial Services Inc., Madison, to form the Physicians Health Cooperative (PHC). PHC is a new health insurance cooperative offered to groups in the medical community that focuses on issues of employee benefits, including consumerism, retiree coverage and technology. The services will be offered to members of the Wisconsin Medical Society, their families and employees. PHC will be governed by a separate board of directors. Currently, PHC is only open to members in Brown County, Door County, Fond du Lac County, Kewaunee County, Manitowoc County, Marathon County, Menominee County, Oconto County, Outagamie County, Shawano County, Sheboygan County, Waupaca County, Waushara County and Winnebago County. PHC health products are provided by Wisconsin Physicians Service (WPS) Health Insurance Corp., Madison. WPS is offering a 15-month initial rate guarantee for founding members, enrolling by Jan. 1, 2008.

Verlo Mattress Factory Stores

Adel Salameh, a franchise owner of Verlo Mattress Factory Stores located in Fort Atkinson, Delafield and Johnson Creek, was selected to receive the Franchisee of the Year Award from the International Franchise Association, Washington, D.C. Verlo Mattress Factory Stores is headquartered in Fort Atkinson. Salameh was one of multiple franchisees of different companies to be selected to receive this award.

Beechwood Cheese Co.

Beechwood Cheese Co., Beechwood, entered an agreement with Sentry Foods to sell Chuckwagon Cheddar and Cracked Black Pepper and Shallot cheese flavors in 30 stores, supplied by the Kenosha distribution center of Supervalu Inc., Eden Prairie, Minn. Chuckwagon Cheddar was designed for grilling or snacking and is a combination of cheddar and Monterey jack infused with a sweet barbeque seasoning. The Cracked Black Pepper and Shallot flavor has a combination of a medium white cheddar, all natural shallot, French tarragon, black pepper and bay leaves.

Waukesha-Ozaukee-Washington County Workforce Development Board

The Waukesha-Ozaukee-Washington (W-O-W) County Workforce Development Board named ProHealth Care, Waukesha, as employer of the year. The annual award is presented to an employer in the three-county area that has met and exceeded the Workforce Development Board criteria in categories including: leadership; relationship with Workforce Development Centers; workforce development practices; community involvement; effective use of community resources; number of new hires; excellent training; and innovation in hiring, training, and retention. ProHealth Care has sponsored the Workforce Development Regional Health Care Career Fair for the past three years, attracting multiple large health care organizations and job seekers from the southeastern Wisconsin region. The health system introduced a Workforce Initiative Program to the corporate community, enabling employers to identify, address and eliminate employee health risks before they result in costly health care claims. ProHealth Care also provides a Community Benefit Plan that links individuals in need to health care resources and funds a position for an alcohol and drug abuse coordinator in the Waukesha School district, transportation services for doctor’s appointments, and is working with La Casa de Esperanza Inc., Waukesha, to develop a Hispanic community health center.

Frontier Medical Products Inc.

Frontier Medical Products Inc., Port Washington, entered a three-year contract with Premier Inc., Charlotte, N.C., a group purchasing organization, for its Tournicuf surgical tourniquet product line. The contract agreement will enable Frontier Medical Products to achieve double-digit percentage increases in revenue and require the addition of between five and six new employees.
