Mount Mary College

Milwaukee-based Mount Mary College recently signed a degree completion agreement with Waukesha County Technical College that will allow WCTC associate degree graduates to transfer credits to Mount Mary College to earn a liberal studies bachelor’s degree. Under the new agreement, WCTC students earning an associate in applied science degree can apply those credits to any Mount Mary degree program, including the general studies core requirements, and enter the college a few credits short of junior status. A total of 64 WCTC credits can be transferred. In addition, the degree completion agreement includes a program-to-program transfer agreement allowing students in WCTC’s Criminal Justice program to transfer to Mount Mary’s Justice Program.

DCI Cheese Company

Richfield-based DCI Cheese Company’s newest product offering, Salemville Smokehaus Blue, was awarded first place in the Blue-Veined Cheese category at the 2010 Wisconsin State Fair Cheese & Butter Contest. Smokehaus Blue is available as six pound wheels and repacks, The brand also took third in the Blue-Veined Cheese category with its Gorgonzola. Salemville Smokehaus Blue and the other category winners will be recognized during the Blue Ribbon Cheese & Butter Auction in August, at Wisconsin State Fair Park. The auction is a fundraising event for the Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Promotion Board and features the sale of the blue-ribbon entries.LePoidevin Marketing

Brookfield-based LePoidevin Rickinger Group has changed its name to LePoidevin Marketing. The name change comes with the departure of a partner in the firm. The firm has more than two decades of involvement in communications and advertising organizations both locally and in specific market segments like animal health. Clients of the agency include companies in the automotive, construction, pest control, mining, animal health and insurance markets.

Zizzo Group Marketing+ PR + New Media

Milwaukee-based Zizzo Group has launched a health care community outreach and communications partnership for Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Kansas City. Zizzo Group is working with the medical center on a comprehensive health education program, Leading KC Care. The program is designed to assist the medical center in branching out in the Kansas City area and reaching consumers on a more personal level.

Ticor Title Insurance

Ticor Title Insurance of Wisconsin has changed its name to Fidelity National Title Insurance to match the name of its parent company. Ticor Title Insurance has been a member of the Fidelity National Financial family for over ten years. The three former Ticor Title locations in Port Washington, West Bend and Madison are taking the Fidelity National Title Corporation name. Former Ticor Title customers will also benefit from greater access to resources through Fidelity National Title Insurance’s nationwide network.

Sprecher Brewing

Glendale-based Sprecher Brewing Company won eight medals at the U.S. Open Beer Championships, and the brewery had the distinction of being the 2nd best brewery in the competition. More than 700 beers were submitted in 50 different categories from 20 international breweries and award-winning homebrewers. Sprecher was awarded gold medals for its Black Bavarian, Schwarzbier and Dunkle Weiss, German Wheat; silver medals for its Dopple Bock, Generation Porter, Mai Bock, Pipers Scotch Ale, and Winter Brew and a bronze medal for its Mbege Specialty beer.

Rishi Tea

Milwaukee-based Rishi Tea was recently honored by the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade (NASFT) when its Masala Chai Concentrate received a Silver sofi Award for Best New Product. The sofi Awards are given to the best products in the specialty food industry. Rishi Tea’s new chai was selected for quality, innovation, packaging, ingredients and pricing among more than 2,200 entries in the competition. Rishi Tea also won two first place awards for iced tea at the North American Tea Championship. Its Citron Green won first place in the Flavored Green Iced Tea category and Mint Rooibos won the Flavored Herbal Iced Tea category. Both first place winners are part of Rishi Tea’s Organic and Fair Trade Certified line of Iced Teas.

Northwestern Mutual

Milwaukee-based Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. was recently awarded a Website Innovation Award from Microsoft Corp. for the redesign of its website. NML was also awarded a business Marketing Association Social Media Award for its Dress to Impress Facebook Application. NML is earning acclaim from the Microsoft and business marketing experts for creating new innovative online tools. The company redesigned NorthwesternMutual.com with a simplified navigation, and launched a life event application, which was designed to engage consumers on financial solutions they may need to meet changing circumstances. To make young professionals and college students aware of Northwestern Mutual career opportunities, the company launched “Dress to Impress,” a Facebook application that lets users rate people’s style as “career-makers” or “deal-breakers.” From business suits to boxer shorts, the humorous game has users dress themselves in various apparel options to show how competitive the job market can be. Both sites were launched in January.

Palermo Villa

Milwaukee-based Palermo Villa Inc., recently earned two national healthy eating awards for its frozen pizza. Palermo’s Primo Thin Margherita pizza will be honored as America’s Best Frozen Pizza by Fitness Magazine and Palermo’s Primo Thin Garden pizza was named America’s Healthiest Frozen Pizza by Health Magazine.
