Milwaukee-based Manpower Inc., has been recognized by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council as one of America’s top corporations for women’s business enterprise. This is the third consecutive year, Manpower has earned the honor. The award recognizes 20 top corporations for their world-class programs that help to create level playing fields for women’s business enterprises to compete for corporate contracts. Manpower is one of only three corporations to be recognized for the third consecutive year.

The law firm of Foley & Lardner LLP has been recognized by Massachusetts-based BTI Consulting Group as one of eight law firms with a BTI Client Service All-Star among its ranks in each of the last 10 years. According to BTI, the firms that achieved this honor are known for attracting and retaining attorneys that are exceptional at delivering client service while implementing best practices to encourage, develop and reward client service excellence at a firm-wide level.
Allen Williams, Jr., partner in the firm’s Milwaukee office, has been named a 2011 BTI Client Service All-Star. This honor is given to attorneys who are recognized as being top providers of client services based solely on unprompted feedback from nearly 300 general counsels at Fortune 1,000 organizations. Williams is a member of the firm’s Transactional & Securities and Private Equity & Venture Capital Practices. He is also a member and was the founding chair of the Energy Industry Team and the Regulatory Department.
Odyne Systems LLC
Waukesha-based Odyne Systems LLC, recently appointed Terex Utilities as a distributer for its Odyne plug-in hybrid systems for medium and heavy duty trucks. The appointment will expand the distribution and the support of the product beyond the Dueco Inc., 15-state territory. Odyne Systems develops and markets turnkey hybrid solutions optimized for fleets that utilize vehicles with driving cycles featuring a high percentage of starting and stopping, along with extended periods of jobsite idle time. Companies operating utility or work vehicles with this profile benefit significantly by using the company’s proprietary parallel plug-in hybrid system. Odyne’s system can be installed on a wide variety of new and existing vehicles, reducing fuel consumption by up to 50 percent depending on application, lowering emissions and eliminating or significantly reducing engine noise at the jobsite.
Swimming Pool Services
The Association of Pool and Spa Professionals recently honored Swimming Pool Services Inc., Waukesha, with two awards recognizing its design and construction acumen and consistently high level of customer service. The APSP Midwest Chapter presented the company with a 2010 Gold Award of Excellence for Residential Vinyl Liner 600 Square Feet and Over, and a 2010 Gold Award as an Outstanding Service Company. Swimming Pool Services has won the Outstanding Service Company award for five consecutive years. The award is based on customer survey feedback in categories of pool openings, pool closings, ongoing maintenance, hot tub service and commercial service. The Gold Award for Residential Vinyl Liner 600 Square Feet and Over recognized a Swimming Pool Services project at a home in Brookfield. The company designed and built an outdoor living space with material choices matching a new addition to the house. The backyard area featured a pool, fire pit, island bar, dining area, grill and cooking space, and all new landscaping.
Connecture
Connecture Inc. has acquired Insurix, a technology provider of sales automation software to health insurance carriers and brokers. The acquisition makes Connecture the largest end-to-end sales automation provider in the market and the company now holds the health insurance distribution industry’s largest portfolio of clients as well as products, services, and end-to-end solutions, processing billions of dollars in premiums annually. Connecture will continue to service and support Insurix clients and will include all carriers in Connecture’s client partnership benefits, including user group conferences, health reform forums, and product roadmap strategy sessions. Connecture Inc., is headquartered in Atlanta, but the chief executive officer and its largest location is based in Pewaukee.
