Lake Geneva Country Meats, Home of Leahy’s Sausage, has earned Grand Champion Honors in the Restructured Jerky Category for Leahy’s Sausage Barbequed Beef Strips at the 73rd Annual American Association of Meat Processors Convention. More than 1,000 products from meat processors around the United States were entered into 30 categories, including summer sausage, ham, bacon and many more. The American Cured Meat Championship Competition is the only national event of its kind in North America. More than 40 judges including food scientists and specialists in the meat industry evaluate the many products during the convention. Each product is scored for external appearance, eye appeal, internal appearance and aroma and taste, using a scale of 1,000 points.
Milwaukee-based Aurora Health Care has been named one of the “Most Wired” health care providers for the ninth consecutive year by Hospitals & Health Networks Magazine. Aurora is the only southeastern Wisconsin health care system to receive this recognition consecutively. More than 200 hospitals nationwide were recognized for successful information technology planning and implementation as part of the 2012 “Most Wired” survey.
