MACC Fund

Kevin Steiner, president and chief executive officer of West Bend Mutual Insurance Co., was recently honored with the MACC (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer) Fund’s “Don Contardi Commitment Award.” Jon McGlocklin, president and co-founder of the MACC Fund, presented the award to Steiner during an Aug. 18 program in West Bend’s Prairie Center. The program was part of West Bend Mutual Insurance’s fifth biennial “Silver Lining MACC Fund Event,” a golf outing and fundraiser held at the West Bend Country Club. This year’s event raised almost $450,000 for the MACC Fund, which supports pediatric cancer and blood disorder research in Wisconsin. The award is named for Don Contardi, one of the early members of the MACC Fund board of directors and a Milwaukee commercial real estate executive. Contardi, who died in 1984 after a battle with cancer, dedicated much of his energy to fighting childhood cancer. The award recognizes an individual or company that shares his dedication. Steiner also serves on the organization’s board of directors.
